In the years ahead, after he organized the neurological department of Doctors Improvement Faculty at the Russian state medical university Fedin continued researches in angioneuralgia.

One of the most important scientific direction is the vertebrology in which he began to be engaged since the beginning of the 1980. His teachers in this specialty are professor V. S. Goydenko and the founder of the European school of manual medicine, the Czech neurologist C. Levitte.

In 2001—2005 Fedin was the chief physician of the Central clinical hospital of the Prelate Alexy, the Metropolitan of Moscow of the Moscow patriarchy of Russian Orthodox Church. The most modern methods of rehabilitation of patients are applied here, using the latest techniques helping to recover motive and speech functions.

Fedin considers neurology as the main direction among all types of the activities — pedagogical, scientific, medical, organizational — allocates main — practical as sees himself first of all as the practicing neurologist.

Professor Fedin published 4 monographs, more than 160 scientific articles, methodical recommendations and educational and methodical benefits. Among his pupils there are 6 doctors of science and 27 candidates of science. He is the editor-in-chief of the Nervous Diseases magazine.
